Marketing Data Analyst

The Marketing Data Analyst provides support to our B2C clients by generating strategic insight based on operational, customer, and campaign data. The analyst is responsible for understanding his/her clients’ relationship with their customers and providing actionable analysis, which will maximize database value.

The successful candidate enjoys having a cross-functional role that requires the ability to work closely with various roles across both internal and client teams. 

Daily Responsibilities of the position:

  • Collaborate with client teams to manage ongoing account priorities while remaining responsive to time-sensitive ad hoc requests, which are frequent in CP’s data driven culture.
  • Work with solution architects and data engineers to source new data, resolve system issues that impede data extraction, and design data structures which will best support analytical efforts.
  • Work with clients and internal strategic teams to define audiences for marketing communications based on program objectives and develop queries to extract mail files for delivery.
  • Create and maintain business and campaign dashboards in Tableau and SSRS.
  • Strategically own client requests, including defining business objectives, analytical approach, and actionable outcomes.

Project-based Responsibilities of the position:

  • Deliver analytics solutions for clients including customer segmentation, data mining, and program measurement in order to identify strategic marketing opportunities.
  • Develop quantitative analyses and dashboards to demonstrate performance of key business initiatives and define areas for optimization.
  • Synthesize complex analytics into compelling top level findings for presentations to executives.
  • Work with internal and client-marketing teams to define and execute A/B and multivariate tests to optimize the customer experience and maximize lifetime value.

Requirements:

Business Acumen

  • 3+ years of experience in marketing analytics, with proven success in leveraging data to understand key business behaviors that drive acquisition, retention, and engagement.
  • Strong business acumen to understand corporate strategy, interact with clients, and present actionable findings that relate to the client’s strategic objectives.
  • Excellent communications skills, particularly the ability to communicate highly technical information to non-technical and executive audiences.

Technical Skillset

  • Understanding of relational databases and database management.
  • Ability to write SQL queries to pull and analyze client data and troubleshoot when necessary.
  • Ability to assess large quantities of data, identify trends, and create reports.
  • Experience with SSRS or Tableau a plus.
  • Experience with utilizing predictive modeling techniques on the job a plus.

Personal Qualities

  • Desire to work cross-functionally, especially in collaborating with database developers to reconcile data and align processes across data development, analytics, and marketing.
  • Desire to contribute to analytical best practices and product development.

Account Coordinator

Customer Portfolios is a rapidly growing, multi-channel database marketing services provider located in Boston’s seaport district.  Since 2001, CP has been building marketing databases, performing advanced data analysis and segmentation modeling, developing and packaging insight based on analysis and delivering strategic lifecycle marketing programs on behalf of its clients.

To meet the needs of a growing client base, CP is seeking an entry-level addition to its account team to work on project management related deliverables.  The Account Coordinator will officially report to the SVP of Delivery with hands on training and mentorship by an Account Manager to work exclusively on specific accounts as part of a team.

A qualified candidate:

  • Is highly organized
  • Is able to communicate clearly both in writing and in person
  • Is a self-starter, able to take initiative, ask questions and problem solve
  • Is able to manage their own time and effectively
  • Has a basic knowledge of marketing principles

Responsibilities of the position

  • Manage each client account’s weekly, status-related communication
  • Maintain each client account’s list of priorities and work with the Account Director, internal team and client to adjust the list each week
  • Provide regular two-way communication between the client and internal team
  • Works closely with the internal team in order to maintain a continuous knowledge of project status in order to identify potential issues and/or opportunities within or related to the project
  • Ensures that all processes and procedures are completed, quality standards are met
  • Ensures that client issues are dealt with in an efficient manner, informing the Account Director of any problems that may arise

Requirements

  • Demonstrable leadership skills
  • Prior project management experience a plus
  • Undergraduate degree in marketing or business preferred

CP’s internship program offers an incredible opportunity for the candidates to contribute to the growth of the company. Interns start off by shadowing members of each department and then become fully integrated members of the team. Interns are expected to take the same initiative as full-time employees.

Marketing: The Marketing Program Specialist Team serves as the owner of relationships between Customer Portfolios and multiple client accounts. The MPS Team is responsible for designing, implementing and launching multi-channel marketing programs.

Analytics: The Marketing Data Analytics Team provides support to our B2C clients by generating strategic insight based on operational, customer, and campaign data. The analysts are responsible for understanding the clients’ relationship with their customers and providing actionable analysis, which will maximize database value.

Business Development: The Business Development Team helps to grow our client base by pursuing strategic opportunities and cultivating partnerships. Business Development Interns will work on

Account Management: The Account Management Team works with clients and internal teams on daily services and project management related deliverables.  Account Managers work directly with multiple clients and closely with Account Directors on specific accounts as part of a team.

Technology: The CP Technology teams are comprised of Solution Architect Team, Data Engineering Team and Application Development Team. The SA team works closely with the internal development team and will are involved in all areas of the delivery process ensuring client needs are being met. The DE team works on the implementation of client data mart and customer analytics platform for their marketing services clients. The Application Development team designs, develops and maintains CP’s MARCIE Workbench and other marketing automation applications.
